HC Deb 14 June 1994 vol 244 c413W
Mr. Barron

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment, pursuant to his oral statement of 24 May,Official Report, column 197, what is his estimate of the cost of implementing the recommendations contained in the Health and Safety Commission's "Review of Regulations" report.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

The Health and Safety Commission's "Review of Regulations" is intended to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the regulatory regime. Most of what needs to be done lies within the commission's existing remit, and builds on the approach that it has taken over the past 20 years. The commission has advised me that it will begin to implement its proposals and recommendations on the basis of its existing public expenditure provision; but the matter will be kept under review.
