§ Mr. Llew SmithTo ask the President of the Board of Trade when he plans to publish his departmental guidance on the implementation of the code of practice on freedom of information, as promised at paragraph 3(ii) of the code issued on 4 April; and what has been the cause of the delay in publication of the guidance.
§ Mr. EggarMy Department has not produced its own guidance on interpretation of the open government code of practice. We rely on the central guidance which has already been placed in the Library of the House.
Guidance on procedures for operating the code within my Department has, however, been available for some time. I am sending the hon. Member a copy and also placing copies in the Library of the House.
