§ Mr. PopeTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will list the budget allocations for section 11 grants for 1993–94 and 1994–95; if he will list the numbers of section 11 posts reported to his Department as having been made redundant; and how many of those redundant posts were held by members of ethnic minorities in Brent, Hackney, Redbridge, Avon, Buckinghamshire, Cleveland, Hertfordshire, Birmingham, Lancashire and Wolverhampton.
§ Mr. Peter LloydAvailable information is shown in the table.
Previously grant has been paid as a proportion of actual salary costs incurred. The first figure shows the amount of grant payable in relation to expenditure reported by the authority or institution as having been incurred during 1993–94. The second figure is the budget allocation which has been notified to the authority or institution in relation to its expenditure in 1994–95, under new arrangements for the payment of grant. The other two columns show numbers of posts of which formal notification had been received from an authority or institution by 10 June that, with effect from April 1994 or Septemberr 1994 respectively, they would no longer form part of a project attracting section 11 grant. Information is not held centrally as to particular arrangements for the management of a reduction in the number of posts, or as to the ethnic background of postholders.
