To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage if he will list for each of the last five years the cost to public funds of consultancy work provided by(a) KPMG Peat Marwick, (b) Touche Ross, (c) Price Waterhouse, (d) Ernst and Young, (e) CSL, (f) Prime, (g) Basis, (h) Theodore Goddard, (i) Dibb Lupton Broomhead, (j) Capita and (k) Shreeveport to his Department; and if he will list any other firms which have provided consultancy work and the costs to public funds for each of the last five years.

Since it was established in April 1992, my Department and its two agencies awarded contracts as follows:

  1. (a) KPMG—seven contracts valued at approximately £186,000.
  2. (b) Touche Ross—two contracts valued at approximately £210,000.
  3. (c) Price Waterhouse—three contracts valued at approximately £221,000.
  4. (d) Ernst and Young—four contracts valued at approximately £162,000.
  5. (e) CSL—nil.
  6. (f) Prime—nil.
  7. (g) Basis—nil.
  8. (h) Theodore Goddard—nil.
  9. (i) Dibb Lupton Broomhead—nil.
  10. (j) Capita Management Consultancy—one contract valued at approximately £34,000.
  11. (k) Shreeveport—nil.
