Mr. Atkins

No bathing waters are considered to fail the bacteriological standards of the bathing water directive consistently because of seagulls. However, as the tests under the directive do not distinguish between human and other sources of faecal pollution it is possible that contamination by mammals and birds will contribute to occasional failures.
