HL Deb 06 June 1994 vol 555 c68WA
Lord Stoddart of Swindon

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Further to their Answer of 28th April (H.L. Deb., col. WA 51), whether they consider that the result of implementing Directive 93/98/EEC will be detrimen-tal to living authors. The Minister of State, Department of Trade and Industry (Lord Strathclyde): Directive 93/98/EEC increases the duration of authors' rights in the works that they create and therefore cannot be detrimental to the interests of the authors of those works, whether living or dead.
