HC Deb 21 July 1994 vol 247 cc584-5W
Mr. Morgan

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will give the size of the departmental unit responsible for the furtherance of NHS trusts.

Mr. Redwood

Twelve full-time staff work specifically on NHS trust issues.

Mr. Morgan

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales on what date the Director of the national health service in Wales gave guidance to the South Glamorgan health authority community services trust-designate in relation to the expression of interest by the Llandough NHS trust in running the community health services in the Vale of Glamorgan area; whether the guidance had statutory support; what representations he has had in relation to such guidance; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Redwood

I refer the hon. Member to my answer on 5 May, column645.

The director of NHS Wales wrote to the community and priority services unit on 19 November 1993 inviting an application for NHS trust status from April 1995. I have placed a copy of the letter in the Library of the House.
