To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what performance targets have been set for the current year for the Overseas Development Administration's executive agency, the Natural Resources Institute.

The institute's principal performance targets for 1994–95 are: to recover the full economic costs of its ordinary activities; to achieve a further increase of 20 per cent. in the volume of work done for non-ODA clients,

with an increase of 35 per cent. in the value of net income from this source; and to secure a reduction in the real cost of operational time charged to clients to below the 1992–93 level, thereby recovering the 5.2 per cent. efficiency loss in 1993–94.
