HL Deb 21 July 1994 vol 557 c44WA
Lord Spens

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the High Court has granted to Mrs. Carol Riley (GB1136-HMP Drake Hall) leave to seek judicial review of the Parole Board's decision not to grant her parole and, if this is the case, whether they will instruct the Parole Board to expedite the hearing so that the review can be held before the summer judicial vacation.

The Minister of State, Department of Trade and Industry (Earl Ferrers)

I can confirm that the High Court has granted Mrs. Riley leave to seek judicial review of the Parole Board's recommendation not to grant her parole. The timetable for the judicial review is a matter for the court to decide.
