§ Mr. WattsInformation supplied to the Department by a panel of operators indicates that local bus fares in Great Britain increased by 63 per cent. between January 1987 and May 1994, and by 9 per cent. between August 1992 and May 1994. The contribution made by increases in unit labour costs is not known. No information is collected about changes in other—non-local—bus and coach fares.
