§ Mr. WorthingtonTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations have been made by the United Nations, European Union and the United Kingdom to the Government of Zaire about the support it gives to UNITA in Angola; and what has been the response of the Government of Zaire.
§ Mr. BaldryThe chairman of the United Nations Angola sanctions committee has written to the Government of Zaire asking for a response to allegations that Zaire has breached United Nations sanctions against UNITA. The Government have not replied. We have therefore supported a proposal that the President of the Security Council call in the permanent representative of Zaire to explain his Government's lack of co-operation and to urge an immediate response to the allegations.
