To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what was the level of male and female unemployment within the Greater London area at the latest available date.

Miss Widdecombe

In June 1994, seasonally adjusted unemployment in Greater London stood at 323,000 for men and 111,000 for women, down 8 per cent. and 7 per cent. respectively on December 1992.

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment if he will give the gender and ethnic origin of registered unemployed in the United Kingdom for each year since 1991–92.
