To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, pursuant to her answer of 13 July,Official Report, column 656 about durum wheat, if she will make it her policy to gather information about the durum wheat areas measured by remote sensing in Italy and the action taken by the Italian authorities.

Responsibility for ensuring that member states fulfil their obligations to prevent fraud rests with the European Commission. The Ministry does not have the resources to monitor the level of compliance in other member states.
