§ Mr. ForthThe last full survey of the provision of road safety education was undertaken in 1986–87 by Reading university, under contract to the Transport and Road Research Laboratory. The project was funded wholly by Government funds. The results were published in 1989.
§ Mr. JannerTo ask the Secretary of State for Education how much his Department has spent on road safety training during each of the past 10 years for which records are available.
§ Mr. ForthMost schools now have delegated budgets which allow them to invest in road safety training. The Department does not, itself, provide road safety training for school teachers.
