HL Deb 19 July 1994 vol 557 c26WA
Lord Cocks of Hartcliffe

asked the Chairman of Committees:

What was the country of origin and method of production of the veal served in the House of Lords between 20th and 24th June 1994.

The Chairman of Committees (Lord Ampthill)

The veal in question was Dutch. It came from the Navobi Ekro veal producing complex in Apeldoorn, where muscle stimulation takes place immediately after slaughter to promote tenderness.
