To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what new appointments have been made to the Police Complaints Authority.

Mr. Howard

Ms Molly Meacher and Mr. Navnit Dholakia OBE have accepted my invitation to serve as members of the Police Complaints Authority and will take up their appointments on 15 August.

Ms Meacher was previously adviser to the chairman of the Russian Federal Employment Service, and formerly director of Action Trust, now the Employment Policy Institute.

Mr. Dholakia will join the Police Complaints Authority after 18 years with the Commission for Racial Equality, where he has been responsible for administration of justice issues.
