To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what key performance targets have been set for the Defence Postal and Courier Services Agency for the financial year 1994–95.

Mr. Hanley

The Defence Postal and Courier Services Agency has been set the following key targets:

  1. 1. Review the assessment of Military Core Capability and Report by 1 July 1994.
  2. 2. Increase the Agency's efficiency by making 0.5 per cent. saving against 1993–94 outturn net operating costs.
  3. 3. Improve the percentage of mail moved by the MOD Mail Service that meets Quality of Service standards by 0.5 per cent. against target.
  4. 4. Complete Phase 2 of the DPCS Market Testing Plan.
  5. 5. Following the necessary consultations, implement the Mail 2000 recommendations, and report progress by 31 March 1995.
