§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonMy noble and learned Friend the Lord Advocate does not announce publicly what investigative steps he may or may not take in any particular criminal investigation. Criminal investigations could not proceed on any proper basis if they were carried out in such a manner. My noble and learned Friend the Lord Advocate has sent, and will send, Crown Office lawyers wherever it is necessary and appropriate to send them.
