§ Mr. SproatThe responsibility for the allocation of lottery proceeds is a matter for independent distributing bodies accountable to Parliament. These bodies—the Sports Councils, the Arts Councils, the National Heritage Memorial Fund, the Millennium Commission and the National Lottery Charities Board—will issue full guidance notes for applicants in the autumn. Those interested in receiving grants from the national lottery will need to apply to the relevant distributing body.
