HC Deb 11 July 1994 vol 246 c415W
Mr. McCartney

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what arrangements are made for patients in district general hospitals to have their privacy and dignity protected while sharing a room or bay with members of the opposite sex.

Mr. Sackville

That is a matter for the individual hospital. The patients charter emphasises the patient's right to be treated with respect for their dignity, privacy and cultural beliefs.
