§ Mr. Charles WardleFigures are not yet available for the number of fire officers injured in the line of duty in 1993. However, in England and Wales in 1992, three fire officers were killed and 861 were seriously injured in the line of duty. Serious injuries are defined as those which result in absence from duty for at least one month or two weeks or more of hospitalisation.
