§ Mr. BowisThe hospital travel costs scheme provides help with hospital travelling expenses for children who are in families on income support, family credit or low income and for the expenses of a companion where this is medically necessary. To qualify for help under the scheme, patients must be receiving national health service treatment given under the care of a hospital consultant.
