§ Mr. DalyellTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what proposals he has received from Dr. M. de L. Brooke of the department of zoology at Cambridge university for the removal of rats from Oeno in the Pitcairn Islands group; and what action he is taking.
§ Mr. GoodladDr. Brooke wrote to me on 17 June with a proposal for the eradication of rats from Oeno island, at an estimated cost of £47,500. We will consider this proposal carefully in the context of the management plan we are drawing up for the neighbouring island of Henderson, and plan to discuss it further with Dr. Brooke.
