To ask the Secretary of State for Education if he will publish the gender profile, average length of service and average age of the teaching profession.

The tables show the distribution by gender, the average age and the distribution by length of service of full-time teachers in the maintained nursery, primary and secondary schools sector in March 1992. It is not possible to calculate accurately the average length of service.
