To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department what proposals he has to improve the legal aid system.

The legal aid scheme is kept under constant scrutiny to ensure that it is operating as efficienty and effectively as possible. In addition, it is part of the subject matter of the fundamental review of my Department's expenditure which is curently under way.
