§ Mr. Madel
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will now announce the date for the beginning of the public inquiry into the A5 north-south Dunstable bypass; and if he will make a statement.

§ Mr. Key
The need for a public inquiry will depend on the weight and nature of objections to draft orders for the 513W scheme which, subject to the present review of the trunk road programme, we hope to publish this autumn. An inquiry would not be held before 1995.
