To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many people are covered by the agricultural wages board.

All agricultural workers in England and Wales are covered by the provisions of the Agricultural Wages Orders produced by the agricultural wages board.

The total number of regular family and hired workers, including seasonal and casual workers, at 1 June 1993 was 217,770.
