Mr. Newton The Attachment of Earnings Act 1971 includes no specific exemptions for hon. Members or Ministers and I am not aware of any exemptions in any other legislation. But attachment of earnings orders can be served only on a debtor's employer, and there is no employer for this purpose in the case of hon. Members and Ministers.
