HC Deb 26 January 1994 vol 236 c277W
Mr. Hanson

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will make it his policy to allow A-level students to sit examinations in Welsh if they so request.

Sir Wyn Roberts

It remains our general policy that pupils taught through the medium of Welsh should be assessed through the medium of Welsh. Pupils entry to individual subject examinations is a matter of decision by the school governing body. The range of examinations offered by an individual examining body is a matter for the board itself.
