HC Deb 26 January 1994 vol 236 cc282-3W
Mr. Caborn

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland for what reasons the Stevens report was commissioned; and which elected representatives have access to all or part of it.

Sir John Wheeler

Mr. Stevens was appointed by the Chief Constable of the RUC to conduct an inquiry into allegations of collusion between members of the security forces in Northern Ireland and loyalist paramilitaries, and to make recommendations. A copy of Mr. Stevens's report was made available to my right hon. Friend the then Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, and a summary of the report was placed in the Library of the House on 17 May 1990.
