HL Deb 26 January 1994 vol 551 c78WA
Lord Mottistone

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What was the number of short and long-stay beds available in NHS psychiatric hospitals and trusts in each year from 1988–89 to 1992–93:

  1. (a) in London boroughs
  2. (b) in health districts in England.

Baroness Cumberlege

Information about beds for mentally ill patients or patients with learning disabilities is contained in the annual summary of bed availability for England (Form KHO3), copies of which have been placed in the Library. The summarised information does not distinguish between wards in psychiatric hospitals or psychiatric wards in other hospitals. The information is available for London health districts but not for London boroughs.
