§ Mr. MacleanDuring the consultation exercise carried out last year concerning wheel clamping on private land, the Government received a number of different views, including some from the companies themselves and a representative association, about the activities of clamping companies and about ways of reducing concerns that exist about those activities.
162WIn considering what, if any, action it may be appropriate to take, the Government's aim continues to be to ensure that any measure introduced to prevent or deter irresponsible and heavy-handed wheel clamping on private land does not prevent sensible measures being taken to control genuine parking problems.
