HC Deb 25 January 1994 vol 236 c149W
Mr. Bradley

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the estimated cost to his Department of exempting from income tax benefits payable under permanent health insurance policies in the first 12 months of disability.

Mr. Dorrell

Precise figures are not available centrally but is estimated that in 1994–95 the cost of exempting payments made in the first 12 months of disability will be around £10 million.
