To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will list the number of cars damaged and the level of house burglary, theft from cars and burglary in each year since 1973 in the Northumbria police area.

Using the gross domestic product deflator, the cost of acquiring(a) a firearm certificate and (b) a shotgun certificate in real terms for each year since 1968, using that year as the base year, are given in the following table:

The available information is contained in the table. Police force area boundaries changed in 1974 so figures are given from 1975 onwards. Information on the number of cars damaged is not collected centrally.
