§ Mr. Alex CarlileTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what action he is taking to improve the protection from car crimes on public roads; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Charles Wardle[holding answer 24 January 1993]: The Home Office continued with its car crime prevention campaign during 1993, to build on the success achieved in 1992. Evaluation of the campaign showed a very high awareness of the campaign's message. We shall continue to encourage the motor manufacturers to improve 167W vehicle security. We shall also continue our efforts to make motorists aware of car crime and the measures they should take to keep themselves and their vehicles safe.
