To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland when the Samaritan hospital, Glasgow, is to close; and what arrangements are in hand for the transfer of patients and the staff employed in that hospital.

[holding answer 21 January 1994]: Greater Glasgow health board has yet to conclude its review of acute services. The Royal Samaritan hospital features is part of that review. The Secretary of State looks forward to receiving the health board's recommendations in due course.
