§ Mr. BaldryMy right hon. Friend has considered carefully the response which Langbaurgh on Tees borough council has made to the notice served in the authority, and 33W has today given the authority a direction under section 19B of the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980. The effect of the direction is to require the authority to retender the work which was the subject of the notice when the current arrangement comes to an end and to seek my right hon. Friend's consent should it wish to reassign the work to the direct service organisation.
