Mrs. Roche

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he intends to publish the detailed rules and supporting guidance for claimants of the new scheme proposed in the White Paper "Compensating Victims of Violent Crime".

Mr. Maclean

We hope to be able to publish the detailed rules and supporting guidance by early March.

Mrs. Roche

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many nominations he has received for the proposed criminal injuries compensation appeals panel; and which organisations have made these nominations.

Mr. Maclean

To date, 85 nominations have been received. Fifteen of these have been made by friends or associates of the nominee or by the nominees themselves. The remainder have come from the Trades Union Congress, the Cabinet Office—Office of Public Service and Science—and the Department of Health.

Mrs. Roche

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department when the 1993 annual report of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board will be published.

Mr. Maclean

I understand that publication of the board's 29th annual report has been delayed as a result of
