HC Deb 21 January 1994 vol 235 cc882-3W
Ms Primarolo

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what was the funding for general medical services by region in each of the last three years; and what is projected for the next two years.

1. Mr. Sackville

Expenditure on general medical services by region for the years 1990–91 and 1992–93 is shown in the table.

Projected expenditure for future years is not available: most elements of general medical services expenditure are demand led and funded accordingly. Budgets for cash-limited expenditure on the general medical services are issued by regional health authorities and are not available centrally.
