HC Deb 20 January 1994 vol 235 cc817-8W
Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will place in the Library an unclassified version of the Cosgrove report on the Royal Air Force's air warfare strategy.

Mr. Hanley

The report is classified for internal management use and an unclassified version could be provided only at disproportionate cost.

Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if Royal Air Force tactical air warfare doctrine follows the procedures laid down in allied tactical publications 27B, 33 and 42.

Mr. Hanley

The United Kingdom subscribes to the procedures in allied tactical publications—ATP—27B, 33 and 42 and this is reflected in the Royal Air Force's tactical doctrine and training.

Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what recent changes have been made in provision for the study of, and training in, air warfare doctrine in the Royal Air Force.

Mr. Hanley

As a result of experience gained during the Gulf conflict the air warfare centre—AWC—was formed on 1 October 1993. The AWC draws together several existing organisations to provide the focus for all RAF air warfare matters including the study of and training in air warfare doctrine.
