§ Mr. BaldryLast month my right hon. Friend received a copy of the Audit Commission's very useful report "Protecting the Public Purse" which contains valuable guidance on the avoidance and detection of fraud and corruption in local government. I also receive representations from time to time in relation to individual cases which, where appropriate, I refer to the relevant investigating authorities as I have no responsibility for pursuing such cases myself.
