To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how much transport support grant was allocated for expenditure on metropolitan trunk roads for each year since 1979 for use by(a) local authorities and (b) the former Greater London council until its abolition.

Local authorities are not allocated TSG for national trunk roads, whether or not in metropolitan areas.
