Mr. Key

Enforcement against overloading of commercial vehicles will continue to be undertaken at ports, with the agreement of port authorities, and at other inland sites within the vicinity of ports. Where driver self-weigh equipment is available operators and drivers are encouraged to use the facility to check-weigh and to help avoid vehicles leaving ports in an overloaded condition.

International goods vehicle traffic will also continue to be routinely checked at inland enforcement sites. Arrangements are currently being negotiated with Eurotunnel for checking channel tunnel traffic prior to leaving France.
