HC Deb 18 January 1994 vol 235 cc510-1W
Mr. Cousins

To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will list all the outstanding applications for new telecommunications licences, together with the date of the placing of the application with him.

Mr. McLoughlin

The "Register of Licence Applications" which is published weekly by OFTEL lists all applications for new telecommunications licences which have been made since the publication of the duopoly review White Paper in March 1991. The register does not list the dates on which the applications were made; these are provided in the table for all applications under consideration appearing on the register as at 14 January 1994.

Since publication of the White Paper, 35 licences for new telecommunication systems have been issued.
