To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how he proposes to meet the shortfall in services caused by the proposed cuts in section 11 funding.

Following discussions with local authorities, section 11 grant will now be distributed as a cash sum, rather than a percentage of expenditure. This will ensure maximum take-up of available funding, and it remains open to local authorities to provide additional resources in the light of their assessment of relative local priorities.
