TaylorThe cost of establishing and of running annually the magistrates courts service inspectorate is estimated to be £1.005 million for the set-up costs in 1993–94 and £1.8 million a year in subsequent years when the inspectorate will be fully operational and undertaking a full programme of inspections. This does not include overhead costs, such as general accommodation and other charges, which are not separately identified and which are met from a central budget.
