To ask the Attorney-General what criteria are used by the Director of Public Prosecutions in assessing the public interest when deciding whether to proceed with a prosecution.

The general principles used when assessing the public interest are set out in the "Code for Crown Prosecutors" which is published and laid before Parliament each year in the annual report of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
