§ Mr. TippingTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment what advice he has given to training and enterprise councils over the granting of financial assistance to aid the declaration of interest of directors of TEC boards.
§ Miss WiddecombeThe contract between training and enterprise councils and the Department requires that TEC directors and employees declare any direct or material interest that may arise in respect of any matter to which the TEC is party. Where an interest has been declared, the prior approval of the directors is required before any contract may be made or funding given to any person or company. A director who has declared a conflict of interest may not be involved in such a decision.
