§ Mr. Robin SquireOn the basis of departmental projections of teacher numbers and data from the recent pay survey conducted by the School Teachers Review Body we estimate that in England and Wales approximately 9,700 full-time teachers in the maintained nursery, primary, secondary and special sectors, including 5,900 heads and 3,100 deputies, were being paid salaries of £30,000 per annum or more on 1 September 1993.
