§ Mr. HanleyThe quantitative aspect of performance review in the Department is based, first, on indicators of 349W military capability and readiness for forces and headquarters; these include manning levels, the availability of equipment, and levels of collective training. In addition, a significant amount of data is available to assess progress with management initiatives such as the efficiency programme, market testing and next steps reviews. The performance of the Procurement Executive is monitored by indicators of the health of major projects. Budgetary data are also employed.
